Meanwhile, the Name, His glory is magnificent, remains hidden and occulted, and the Meaning speaks through His own Essence in the luminous form of Pre-existence, the Anza' al-Batin. The worlds of light behold Him in the form of [Light] , as the Manifester of power, knowledge, and proof, while the Veil is concealed and the Gate is established, directing and pointing toward the Meaning.
The attribute from which they witness the Creator's action is the attribute of the Name, [which is the ultimate objective] 1 ; it is neither a physical body nor a corporeal form that could veil the Meaning, majestic and exalted. The attribute and the likeness within the Lineage and the count are [an occurrence that continuously accompanied the Name] 2 , whereas the Meaning is an Essence standing by Himself, who can neither be divided nor doubled within any personage among them.
When the Meaning brings forth the Name from beneath the shimmering of the Light, both he and the Gate draw sustenance from the Meaning.
