The questioner asked: "Do I declare that he is the Sublime, the Supreme?"
The respondent replied: "[Ask him] 1 ; indeed, he will inform you concerning [his standing], and the people of the Mission will make known to you that which he is designated by. Thus, if [he is] the master of Eternity, Pre-existence, the Knower of the unseen realms, the Drawer of decrees, and the Originator of every known thing, then he will declare upon the pulpits of his grandeur, openly and explicitly, or within his assemblies in a famous and well-known proclamation: "Indeed, I am God," just as the Exalted One spoke upon the pulpits, proclaiming it publicly without concealment. If he is a vicegerent (wali), he will declare it exactly as the Greatest Master Muhammad, His glory is magnificent, declared it. If he is a Gate (bab), he will express concerning himself and his station within his assemblies to the people of his Mission that which is the absolute truth and sincerity.
