This constitutes the exemplary spirituality (al-ma'nawiyyah al-mithliyyah) without restriction, and His sanctuary is in Samarra (Surra-man-ra'a) within His house.

He did not manifest slaying or poisoning during this occultation; rather, He occulted the Name—who is al-Hasan al-Askari, His glory is magnificent—and manifested in the likeness of his form before the people of the temperament (ahl al-mizaj). Then He manifested the Name—who is our master the Mahdi, the Master of the Age, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, His glory is magnificent—at the break of dawn on Friday, when eight nights had passed from the month of Shaban in the year two hundred and fifty-seven (257 AH) [of the years of the Migration] 1 . Thus, the Name remained [manifest] 2 through two persons: our master the Mahdi, the Master of the Age, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, His glory is magnificent, and al-Sayyid Muhammad ibn Nusayr, peace be upon him.

The Name of the Mahdi, His glory is magnificent, comprised five names: Muhammad, al-Hamd, al-Hamid, al-Hamid, and al-Mahmud.
