Indeed, this specific Name and title belonged to Him only when He was manifest in Essence through the Anza' al-Batin to both the elite and the commoners alike, establishing the definitive proof upon creation.
His statement, "I am the Commander of the Faithful," is because there is no commander besides Him. Were the Lineage of the Imamate [spiritual, essential, and Anza'i], He would have been named the Commander of the Faithful in every single station among them. However, He prohibited this for anyone who would utter it, because He [forbade] that anyone be named Anza' Batin except [His essential manifestation] 1 alone.
Were the Commander of the Faithful, His glory is magnificent, and the rest of the Lineage identical, then al-Hasan, His glory is magnificent, would be the Commander of the Faithful, and al-Husayn, His glory is magnificent, would be [the Commander of the Faithful]2 , and likewise the rest of the stations.
