The Name remained manifest through three persons: al-Husayn, Ali ibn al-Husayn, and Rashid al-Hajari, while the Meaning was manifest in Essence in the likeness of the form of al-Hasan, His glory is magnificent.
For this reason, it was termed an exemplary Meaning (ma'nan mithliyyan), because He occulted al-Hasan, His glory is magnificent, and manifested in the likeness of his form, while He [does not] alter from His own Being; rather, He changes the names and the attributes. Were it not for His removal of al-Hasan, His glory is magnificent, and His manifesting in the likeness of his form, the Name would have been one, the Attribute would have been one, He would have been named the Commander of the Faithful, His glory is magnificent, and it would have been termed an essential Meaning (ma'nan dhatiyyan).
However, since He occulted al-Hasan, His glory is magnificent, and manifested in the likeness of his form, He did not call Himself the Commander of the Faithful—though He is the Commander of the Faithful, His glory is magnificent, beyond any doubt.
