this is among the points related by his aforementioned disciple, Rabiah, during this debate. When I triumphed over him [in argument] 1 and invalidated what was in his possession, he fabricated against me using what he related. Yet, I found it written down in the record of Sheikh Musa's debate where he stated: "The outward is the utmost limit of what we can reach and intend, and the ultimate end of what we seek and attain."

And his statement therein: "If we abandon it and attach ourselves to the Unseen realm, to which there is no pathway, would we be erroneous or correct? Rather, we would be erroneous." By this, he has [bound] 2 himself to error through his assertion that there is no pathway to the inward, and he did not [make it] 3 an object of worship. Yet the inward is the Unseen, and He is the Creator Originator, and He is Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, His glory is magnificent. As for the Unseen, it is His knowledge and His power, exactly as we have previously mentioned.
