[34]with the statement of al-Sadiq, His glory is magnificent: "I have believed in your incapacity (‘ajz) and your miracle (mu‘jiz), and indeed incapacity from the One who is Capable is itself power."
So I said: "Far be it from God that the faith of the master al-Sadiq, His glory is magnificent, would be tied to the incapable form discarded before the hands of Qabil! Rather, the one who manifests incapacity and the miracle for us is the one who speaks with power—this is the absolute truth. Indeed, many among the believers—who are the weak-spirited—say: 'The blow fell upon the Adversary, and at that time neither the striker nor the struck was recognized.' When the Adversary slew Habil, His glory is magnificent, the form remained cast down before the hands of Qabil, while the world believed it to be the form of Habil, His glory is magnificent. Meanwhile, Qabil remained alive, standing in his own form, and his father Adam questioned him regarding the slaying of his brother Habil, His glory is magnificent, and how he had dealt with him and deceived him, until he confessed to him that he had slain him.
