Among those examples: the very first of the manifestations of the Meaning was Habil (Abel), His glory is magnificent. He ceased not to stand in the Legateeship, the Imamate, action, and speech, until He willed to manifest occultation; so He hid the slaying by the hand of the accursed Qabil (Cain), and the slain form remained cast down before [him] 1 , and of his story there transpired what transpired. Then the Meaning manifested through Shith (Seth), His glory is magnificent, and there was no long duration between them like the rest of the [stations] 2 ; rather, these two stations emerged from a single source—from Adam and Hawwa (Eve). So Shith, His glory is magnificent, stood in the Legateeship and the Imamate, and compiled the Scrolls of Idris (Enoch), His glory is magnificent, and of his affair there transpired what transpired.

We ask: Did that slain form possess an ultimate reality of flesh and blood, or not? If a questioner says, "Yes, [it] 3 possessed an ultimate reality," he has consequently bound the Meaning to being slain,
