districts of Safita] ¹ , and he had debated the possessors of corrupt intellects, and made the argument triumph over them [and he did not return] ² to associate with them, so I became certain that he was upon my doctrine [and the goodness of] ³ my belief, and I had not known him before that time, so when I heard of the abundance of his virtue and his bestowal, I sought his knowledge and his benevolence, so I was present before his beautiful hands and his pleasing, noble manners, so his hands did not cease being gathering unto me and his blessings upon me were ample, may God make his return good, and we gathered [with him] ⁴ in the village of [Diruna] ⁵ of the land of al-Qalieh, and there was with us Abd Allah from the village of al-Jarīs, so a debate took place between me and him in some [matters] ⁶ of monotheism [so I proved the truth to him] ⁷ upon it, so the teacher Jamie, may God make his return good, testified for me to that, that the truth is with me,
