from his stations we recognized the inward realms, and from the Muhammadan Dome we came to know that the masters of the prophetic laws are Muhammad himself, His glory is magnificent, and that the stations of the Legateeship (al-wasiyyah) are the Commander of the Faithful, His glory is magnificent. [As for beforehand, there was none among us] 1 who could recall what proceeded from Him in the preceding laws; for had we been fully cognizant from the outset that all the masters of the prophetic laws are one, and that the personages of the Legateeship are the Meaning himself, His glory is magnificent, we would have already been residing within the World of Purity ('alam al-safa').

Indeed, this is merely the discourse of the people of ignorance, who falsely claim that they possess complete knowledge of the Meaning, the Name, and the Gate across all historical manifestations. This is an impossibility, inadmissible to any rational mind! Rather, the duty of the people of affirmation within every religious law is simply to hold fast to the promise given by the master of their own law—namely, that a prophet will manifest after him whose affair will be such and such.
