He was named a "part" only to correspond with the nature of His manifestation to the cosmos, which is itself composed of the [seven] 1 parts, while He is in ultimate reality, He is [not] 2 to be called a part. Were He a part, He would be divided from something and fractioned from it. The meaning of our statement "partless atom" (asamm) is that He is absolute, containing no division within Himself; meaning, He does not manifest simultaneously in two or three persons. Rather, He manifests station after station, and manifestation after manifestation, until the finality of His manifestations. Upon His manifestation as the Receding-Haired, Large-Bellied One (Anza‘ Batin) and the manifestation of His Name through the Muhammadan Reality, He abrogated all preceding religious laws and established the law of Islam. He did not demand of us except what He set up for us of the boundaries of this sacred law, nor did He enslave us to the preceding, past laws, nor did He bind us to any of the heavy burdens that lay upon the adherents of past dispensations.
