He replied: "Because it is [a form belonging to the Name] 1."

So I said to him: "Isolate your Lord [in the Line] 2 ."

He replied: "I do not establish it except as something semantic." Then he turned back to me and said: "It seems as though you do not establish a manifestation (zuhur)."

When I realized for certain that he had doubted me and had not asked for its clarification, I said: ["Has your comprehension reached nothing other than this?"] 3

He then said: "So what .do you hold regarding the Divine Seven (al-sab'ah al-dhatiyyah) which are the partless atom?"

I replied: "I do not establish a seven"—meaning, I do not hold it as he conceives it in what transpired between me and him. At this, he bolted in aversion and did not have the patience to await its interpretation. He began to argue and defame me in all places, claiming that I had invalidated existence and negated the form, solely because his limited comprehension fell short of grasping the true objective.
