Likewise, following this speech, I have indicated the names of the lights indicative of the units (raka‘at) of the supererogatory prayer legislated in the Islamic faith.
I say—and through God is success and protection from straying from the truth—concerning what I have transcribed from the books of the people of monotheism, may God’s pleasure be upon them: The first of the supererogatory prayer timings is Noon (al-Zuhr): eight units. The names of the persons whose stations the supererogatory prayer was legislated in correspondence to are the eight who are attributed by birth to the speaking Mim—may his glory be exalted. They are: al-Qasim, al-Tahir, Abd Allah, Ibrahim, Zaynab, Ruqayya, Umm Kulthum, and Fatima.
The second timing is Afternoon (al-Asr): and it is also eight persons; its supererogatory prayer is like the first. They are: Abd Allah, Muhammad, and Awn, the sons of Ja'far; and Abu Sufyan, Ja'far, Muhammad, and Abu al-Hayyaj, the sons of al-Harith ibn Abd al-Muttalib; and Muhammad ibn Abi Hudhayfa.
The third timing is Sunset (al-Maghrib): four supererogatory units, and they are: Thawban, the client of the Messenger of God; Khuzayma ibn Thabit; Abu al-Haytham Malik ibn al-Tayyahan al-Ashhali; and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri.
