Similarly, the [Great] Veil is the "Niqab" of the Lord and His Gate (Bāb) through which Divine Power was manifested and from which His creations emerged.
The five orifices of the face (the eyes, nostrils, and mouth) are indicators of the manifestation of the Veil through five personages, without any actual separation in reality except according to the perspectives [of the observers]. He is the One who does not accept division.
The Head in its entirety indicates Him [the Veil], with the exception of the two earlobes. These two indicate the two noble stations from His world that appear outwardly in the feminine form, named Zaynab and Ruqayya.
The five outward senses of the head—hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch—provide the souls with knowledge of the world of sensibles. Similarly, the personages of the Intellect (al- ‘Aql), in their manifestation to the world of intelligibles, provide the souls with the inward senses through which the hidden realities (al-mughayyibāt) are witnessed, and through which the possible and the impossible are conceptualized.
