The levels of the Small Spiritual World (al-‘Ālam al-Ṣaghīr al-Rūḥānī) consist of one hundred and nineteen thousand degrees.

As for the degrees of the Human World—which is our world—they are beyond confinement or enumeration due to the infinity of their numbers and the lack of equality among them in their human state. This is because of their differing perspectives toward the Truth, which vary according to the differences in their temperaments (amzijatihim) and their physical molds (qawālibihim), resulting from their past actions.

The Seven Ranks of Each World

The ranks of the Great Luminous World are seven:

The Gates (al-Abwāb)

The Orphans (al-Aytām)

The Commanders (al-Nuqabā’)

The Nobles (al-Nujabā’)

The Specialists (al-Mukhtaṣṣūn)

The Sincere (al-Mukhlāṣūn)

The Tested (al-Mumtaḥanūn)
