it is that which God has permitted for the believers—allowing them to hear the Word of Truth so they may remember and return to the Truth after having departed from it and forgotten it.
And the meaning of the Almighty’s saying: "So whoever among you is ill or on a journey" 1 means: a seeker of the sciences of Truth; so their fasting during "other days" is their adherence during the outward days rather than the esoteric ones, and the outward fasting instead of the esoteric, until the traveler reaches his destination.
It remains for us to follow this speech with the names indicative of the esoteric days and nights of the month. It consists of thirty days, for each of which there is a specific person, and for each night of which there is a specific "covenant" (safqa). Knowledge of this is mandatory for every believer in God; therefore, we have committed ourselves to indicating them in these instances, and God is the Patron of success through His help and favor.
