And Ibn Makzun said in his Diwan:
And a form flashed before my eye with its [true] Meaning, Even if it was witnessed in an outward attire resembling a [human] attire.
Yet it never departed from the state of its absolute, stripped Essence, Nor did it truly intermingle with any temporal form during manifestation.
[113] And the Sheikh Muhammad Farqul said in his treatise "The Bringing Near of Clarification" [Taqrib al-Bayan]: Al-Sadiq, His glory is mighty, said: "Indeed, within the fever that afflicts a human being, there is a treasured knowledge and a hidden secret."
[114] Thus, a canonical analogy may be derived from the discourse of our Master Al-Sadiq—His glory is mighty—concerning the fever: namely, that the fever acts like a veil covering a person upon its onset, driving him to speak or rave with incomprehensible words due to the intensity of its heat. Similarly, the veil of existence covers the sights of the world, so they cannot perceive except according to the measure of their own capacity, and consequently, they speak words devoid of true understanding.
