and absent in His presence due to the intensity of His light. Therefore, whosoever has the Truth [Al-Haqq] as his mirror will see the darkness of the cosmos from behind the light of the mirror of Truth, and his essence will be in a state of continuous witnessing; and to this points the expression that he is 'white-faced in both abodes'."

And the Sheikh Abd al-Karim Muhammad said in verse concerning this meaning:

You manifested as a light in the heaven, and thus through You

The earth shone brightly across its horizons and boundaries.

You were never absent from the eye of the insightful person; rather

Before You, the one with sound eyes appears blind.

Your veil is the very stripping away of veils from an observer's eye

Who beholds You, whereupon a dark mist covers his eyes.

For You are the full, radiant, moonlit celestial body

For which the sun is but a shadow, and the day is completely cut off.
