He said: "To witness Allah just as I have witnessed whomever I recognize, so that I may declare His oneness." He said: "This is not the gnosis of insight; rather, this is the gnosis of existence." He said: "Then concerning insight is my question." He said: "It is to know that the Power belongs to Him, the Most High, and not to any other." He said: "What if I see the power originating from one of the veils?" He said: "If you see the power from a Gate, or from a veil, or from a cause among the causes, then it is from the action of the All-High, the All-Giving." He said: "And how is that?" He said: "Indeed, Allah veiled His devotee, His cause, His Gate, and His veil, and He appeared in the likeness of the form of the veil. Thus, the power is from the action of the veil, not from the action of the veiled entity. So whenever He brings forth the power and manifests wondrous marvels, the veiling agent is himself veiled and hidden from the eyes of the onlookers and the sights of the composite [earthly] beings, for they see him as the veil. Consequently, it is established that the power and the action are among the actions of the veil, not from the action of the veiled entity—and this is the gnosis of insight.
