And the ancient trustworthy authorities narrated that the manifest of the Ayn is the inward of the Mim; it is the action that people saw from the Ayn appearing, such as his reviving of the dead, returning of the sun, and what he performed of actions, so these are the inward of the Mim, and the action of the Mim is the inward of the Sin, and the action of the Sin is the inward of the Grand Orphan [Al-Yatim al-Akbar].
And Ibn Shu'bah said in his treatise "The Clarifier of Realities" [Muwaddihat al-Haqa'iq]: Our Master the Sheikh, may Allah honor his station, said in his treatise regarding the report of Moses: "And the Name remained a abstract light stripped of its temple, because it did not stand firm for the light of the Essence so as to be seen." As for his saying "stands firm," it is a proof of its remaining with it, and his saying "so as to be seen" is a proof that He covered it with such lights that no station can endure in their presence; so it becomes beneath the light like the example of the moon when it is in the hidden phase [Sarari] beneath the lights of the sun—the abundance of its lights covered it, so it is neither seen nor witnessed. Then, when it distances from it and from its lights, it is nurtured with perfection.
