The Essence—Exalted and Majestic is He—is the Necessary Being (Wajib al-Wujud), and everything besides It is merely contingent (mumkin) in relation to It. The impossibility of comprehending It as It is (mahiyyah) has been clearly demonstrated; thus, no speaker has any ground to speak of It except from the standpoint of Divine Manifestation (al-tajalli).
A thing subsists through the soul, the soul subsists through the intellectual spirit, and Allah is outwardly manifested, [like] a sheath within the core of another sheath, speaking universally throughout His entire creation across all worlds—each according to its own nature—just like the color of water takes the color of its vessel."
The book is completed, by the praise of our master, the Prince of the Bees (Amir al-Nahl) [Imam 'Ali b. Abi Talib].
