O He whose veil is nothing but light, and whose hiddenness is nothing but the intensity of His manifestation! I ask You by Your very Self, in the station of Your absolute freedom from all limitation (itlaqika 'an kulli taqyid)—wherein You enact whatever You will and desire—and by Your unveiling through luminous knowledge, and by Your transformation into the forms of Your Names and Attributes within formal existence (al-wujud al-suri): that You cascade upon me a ray of Your light that reveals to me everything concealed within me, until I witness my existence completely from the aspect of where You are, not from the aspect of where I am. The four birds of Abraham are a rooster (dik), a peacock (tawus), a duck (battah), and a crow (ghurab).
