Many a worshiper is a slave to his own whim (hawah)

Who when awake, upon the day the veil is lifted

Shall see his own reflection in the mirror

Not any other, for he did not transcend his own bound. Thinking in his delusion that his essence is his Master

Since he found absolutely nothing besides himself

The structural error of his doubts established

His false claim, so [the divine decree] caused him to die to his blindness

Thus he claimed, "I am Allah!"—yet when this afflicted one sleeps

All secondary causes are severed from him, so how will it be with him

When he awakens, on the Day the covering is removed and all ambiguity vanishes?
