as stated in the Hadith Qudsi: "Were it not for thee, were it not for thee, I would not have created the celestial spheres."
As for the possessor of intellect (dhu al-'aql), he is the one who sees creation as manifest (dahiran) and the Truth as non-manifest (batinan). Thus, the Truth is a mirror for him, revealing creation to him, while creation is hidden within Him just as a mirror disappears behind the reflected image. As for the possessor of intellect and essential vision (dhu al-'aql wa-al-'ayn).
And he is the one who sees the Truth by the Truth within creation, and creation within the Truth, without either of them being veiled by the other. Rather, he views the singular existence, in its very essence, as being the Truth from one aspect and creation from another aspect. He is not veiled by multiplicity from witnessing the singular aspect, nor does the absolute oneness of the Essence (ahadiyyat al-dhat) that manifests within them conflict with witnessing the multiplicity of loci of manifestation. Conversely, he is not veiled by the oneness of the face of the Truth from witnessing the creative multiplicity (al-kathrah al-khalqiyyah), nor does it conflict with witnessing the oneness of the manifesting Essence in the arena of its multiplicity.
