The Personages of the Twelve Months (Ashkhas al-Ithnay 'Ashar Shahran):

Ramadan is represented by the person of 'Abdullah b. 'Abd al-Muttalib; Shawwal by the person of al-Harith b. 'Abd al-Muttalib; Dhu al-Qa'dah by the person of al-Zubayr—and it was named Dhu al-Qa'dah due to the staying back (qu'ud) of the people from recognizing him; Dhu al-Hijjah by the person of al-Hamzah b. 'Abd al-Muttalib; Muharram by the person of Abu Talib; Safar by the person of al-Muqawwim b. 'Abd al-Muttalib; Rabi' al-Awwal by the person of al-Hajal b. 'Abd al-Muttalib; Rabi' al-Thani by the person of al-Ghaydaq b. 'Abd al-Muttalib; Jumada al-Awwal by the person of 'Abd al-Ka'bah; Jumada al-Thani by the person of Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah; Rajab by the person of al-Tahir, the son of the Messenger of Allah; and Sha'ban by the person of al-Qasim, the son of the Messenger of Allah.

Sufism is not the wearing of wool to elevate oneself,

Nor is it morning gatherings, dancing, or musical mirth.

Rather, Sufism is that you become pure (tasfu) without any stain,

And that you follow the Truth, the Quran, and the Religion.
