the Throne: "refers to the Mīmī Likeness," and the womb itself: "refers to the Bābī Cosmos." Thus, when he says: "Verily, the spirit is an expression for a reality that synthesizes the all-encompassing nature to the four branches—meaning the natures. Allah, the Exalted, said: {Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."} 1 . The heaven: "is Salsal," and the directing toward it is the manifestation to it with regard upon the formation of the lights of the Gate, which is an expression for the luminous gaze. "While it was smoke": meaning a shining light. And He said to it and to the earth, "Come, willingly or by compulsion": "wherein is an expression of willingness through the luminous manifestation, and compulsion through the shadow-like manifestation."

And within the earth is an allusion to the luminosity of the Orphans within the extended shade. The decreeing of provisions is an allusion to the divine effusion and the encompassing power by which the spirits subsist and forms are brought into existence.
