like solid stones which, no matter how long you leave them in water, do not soften and do not change from their attribute; and rather, the Universal Intellect that manifests from the Essence of Perfection is One by its essence, with no second with it, and indeed, by its shining upon the souls and the acceptance of their readiness for the shining of its light's beams, they are named intellects, and they shroud themselves in its attributes, and they are called by its name.

A Section on the Name"

It was narrated from Abu Said from his eminent Sheikh: That the Power is the Master Muhammad, the Name in truth, He manifested from his light a shadow and embodied it as a luminous body and it is the Gate; from the light of that light the clear worlds were created, so the Name is the light of the Essence, and the light from which the shadow appeared is the light of the light and it is the illumination, and the shadow is the light of the illumination, and the totality is the reality of the Mim which is the Power. And it was said in this meaning poetically:

Worlds for the King have been brought into existence For the leaning, the crooked, and the straight
