And localized indwelling is the indwelling of bodies within specific entities, while descriptive indwelling is like the indwelling of blackness within a body. Structural-permeating indwelling is like the indwelling of the form within primary matter, or like the indwelling of psychological accidents within the soul. And since the air encompasses the entire terrestrial globe, it is called a sea, just as the flooding waters covering seven-tenths of the dry land are called seas.

Some scholars have said: The sphere of air is a blue sea vaster than the sea of water due to its complete encompassment of the earth and its elevation above it to far distances. For the deepest of oceans does not exceed a depth of a few miles, whereas the depth of the air spans many leagues. The waves and currents of the air are grander than the waves and currents of the ocean and faster than them, and its fish are mankind, birds, and land animals. In reality, this earth from all its sides is a void surrounded from all its boundaries by the sphere of air, standing by His power, the Exalted, in the vastness of space—none holding it except His mighty power, which the scholars express as gravity.
