So whoever sees the self-subsistence of the Truth over things, he is the one who sees the Face of the Truth in everything, since there is nothing in reality other than Allah; lo, everything apart from Allah is vanity.

O One, from whom nothing can be encompassed,

Neither by His attributes nor by His Essence.

Your Face is a Qiblah for me, towards which I pray, Directing myself to it from all directions.

{So wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah} 1 , and He is the essence of the Truth that sustains all things. How can He be absent for a single moment from His kingdom when there is no sustenance for any of the creations except through Him? Were it not for His light, the universe would have turned dark, and neither plant nor animal would exist upon the face of the earth. For it has been said: "The universe is a body and it is a spirit within it." And if it were not for His existence, the creations would have vanished, and all existences, the earths, and the heavens would have perished.
