And Allah created people for permanence so a nation strayed, thinking them created for extinction, for man is created upon the likeness of the comprehensive image that gathers the universal forms and universal concepts.
For he, by his sensory, elemental image, is a gatherer of the elemental forms, and it is his humanity (nasut) and his earthly kingdom (mulk); and by his imagination, he is a gatherer of all the imaginary and absolute and restricted imaginal forms, and it is his power (jabarut); and by his spirituality, he is a gatherer of all the spiritual characteristics, and it is his heavenly kingdom (malakut); and by his reality, he is the gatherer of the Presence, concepts, and realities; and by his secret, he is realized in the Absolute Truth always, and it is his divinity (lahut); and by his isthmus-nature (barzakh-nature), he is a gatherer between absoluteness and specification, and between the unseen and the witnessed, and necessity and possibility; so the perfect man through Him hears and through Him sees, etc.
And by the world of intellect and sense, the spirit and the soul are indicated—meaning the luminous and natural laws.
