in explaining the speech of the scholar, His glory is mighty, by his saying: "Allah created the angels from light, fashioned," he said in its explanation: I say: so the angels are the inspiration and the illumination which occurs to the believer from the light, for every inspiration, illumination, and motive of good, and all that hesitates in the heart, moves in the thought, and surges in the mind of the types of knowledge, matters of praise, fears of prohibition, deterrents of admonition, and what resembles that, then all of them are proximate angels, fashioned in subtle forms known by what emerges from them of righteous deeds, and their naming as angels is an attribution to the kingdoms of heaven because they are the possessors of the righteous servant and his approximators to Allah, the Exalted. And the Jann whom Allah created from fire and the Jinn whom He created from wind are the imaginations, the illusion, and the doubts, and all that occurs to the person of a passing thought, imagination, illusion, doubt, and what resembles that, all of it is Jann and Jinn, in view of its hiddenness in the conscience, and they are fashioned in subtle forms not known except by what emerges from them, if good then good, and if evil then evil.
