And our Master the Shaykh stated in his treatise: 'Thus, re-embodiment [al-Naskh] is the migration of the soul from one human body to another human body. Dislocation [al-Faskh] applies to a man whose soul is completely severed from him, exiting his body while he is neither dead nor missing. His soul is dislocated and transferred into another person, while the soul of someone else from his peers is transferred into him. Consequently, his moral disposition deteriorates, his nature changes, and his family and close associates alienate him, saying: "He is no longer the person we once knew."

Beastly transfiguration [al-Maskh] is the transformation of the soul along with the physical structure [al-haykal] it currently inhabits, in accordance with the statement of the Exalted: {We said unto them: Be ye apes, despised and hated} 1 —so they physically became apes in their bodies. Then he recited: {and of whom He hath made apes and swine, and who serve the tyrant} 2 . And he stated: "The structures into which souls are re-embodied [Naskh] consist of permissible livestock whose meats, milks, skins, wools, hairs, and camel-furs are lawful.
