Were He present within all of them identically, then whosoever worshipped any material object would be correct in their worship—and in that lies the total corruption of what the Prophets and Messengers brought forth. Conversely, if He were entirely external to creation, no one would ever recognize Him, since an object can remain uncomprehended even when bound by spatial location, boundaries, and visual sight; thus, that which is completely external to creation could never be grasped by a mind, nor could it ever be conceived within human imagination.
So this is the discourse of the Sage [al-'Alim]—His glory is mighty. And the true path of Divine Unity [wajh al-tawhid], my son, is that you declare: He is structurally distinct [mubayin] from things in primordiality, essentiality, and absolute power—not in objective existence and presence. He is present within them via encompassing knowledge [al-'ilm] and witness [al-ru'yah], not by means of physical mixing [al-ikhtilat] or incarnation [al-hulul]; described by the relation of space to the living, rational speaking soul [al-hayy al-natiq].
