And the Master Ibrahim said in the introduction of his Treatise of Exposition [Risalat al-Bayan]: "The wise Buzurjmihr the Persian said: 'Books are the shells of wisdom from which the jewels of noble character emerge, because minds were split open [infatarat] from recognition during the First Cycle [al-dawar al-awwal].'"

[145] And the Sheikh Hussein Ahmad said in the Treatise on the Path of Success [Risalat Jaddat al-Najah]: Al-Sadiq—His glory is mighty—said: "Whosoever claims that Allah created things from an existing substance has surely disbelieved. Rather, the similitude of that is like the intrinsic heat emanating from the sun; when you confront it with fine, clear objects and align them parallel to its disc, it ignites a fire, yet the sun remains light. Is that fire a component part of the sun? No; rather, through it it manifested, and out of its shadow it was generated and became apparent, while there is no fire within the sun itself, nor within the glass. In like manner, the Gate [al-Bab] was brought into being from the Mīm, and the Orphan [al-Yatim] from the Gate. The origin is the Mīm, and it is the active agent of that by the command of the High, the Supreme. Glory be to Him who works nothing but absolute innovation [ibda'an]."
