The First Admonition
In the truth upon the knowledge of Allah the Exalted and the clarification of the virtue of the scholar and the scholars:
[6] Our Master, the Commander of the Faithful, His glory is mighty, said: "Learn knowledge, for indeed the teaching of it is a good deed, and the seeking of it is an act of worship, and the remembrance of it is a glorification."
[7] And He, His glory is mighty, said: "Learn knowledge, for indeed it is an adornment for the rich and a help for the poor, and I do not say that it is sought for [gaining wealth] by it, but it invites him to contentment."
[8] And He, His glory is mighty, said: "Learn knowledge, and even if you do not attain a fortune by it, for indeed that the time reproaches you is better than that it reproaches because of you."
[9] And He, His glory is mighty, said: "Learn knowledge while young, you will lead by it when old."
[10] And He, His glory is mighty, said: "Learn knowledge even if for other than Allah, for indeed it will become for Allah."
