[[The Synthesis Between the Verses of Attributes and the Verses of Transcendence]]

And he said in the "Book of al-Usūs": "Whatever crosses your mind, the Meaning [al-Ma‘nā] is other than that," and we affirm what the Meaning has stated concerning Himself... and you negate from Him what He has negated from Himself. And He, Glory be to Him and Exalted is He, has informed about Himself and made known to His servants that He has a form, and He ascribed it to the attributes of created beings through the face, the hand, and the flank, for He said—and He is the most majestic of speakers: {And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor} 1 , and He said: {The hand of Allah is over their hands} 2 , and His saying: {Lest a soul should say, "Oh, [how I] regret over what I neglected in regard to the flank of Allah and that I was indeed among the mockers"} 3 ; so this is His mention of Himself regarding form and visibility.
