Struggle in society begins with liberating the self from its selfishness to perform actions at the level of the group and society; and he who remains idle from such struggle, in the thought of the reincarnationists, is punished. So this is our rebuttal to this objection.

As for the seventh objection, it is that the statement of the idea of reincarnation compels us to believe in the idea of the four states (Al-Maskh, Al-Raskh, Al-Faskh, and Al-Waskh); and this means that everything around us was one day a human and has many lives. This proposal contains some problems, namely that the human is an eternal thing for all beings around him, such as animals and inanimate objects. This belief is refuted by the laws of science and the universals of religious truths, because the human is the last of the beings and is the last of the descendants of the inanimate; thus, science and religion invalidate the fourfold transformation.

The answer, and from Allah help is sought: This philosophy which says that the human is the last of the descendants of the inanimate—meaning he is the son of the dust—is a correct and sound philosophy; however, what is meant is the body, not the soul. For the body is the son of the dust, whereas the soul is a spiritual essence. Thus, the statement of science applies to the body, and the religious doctrines apply to it as being the last of the manufactured [things], but they do not apply to the soul.
