For if the criminal remembered his crime, and the victim remembered what befell him, chaos, harm, and injury would spread among the people; therefore, they were prevented from remembering and were veiled by forgetfulness to preserve society and its righteousness. The reformation of their souls occurs through the guidance of the Heavenly Books, the traditions of the Prophets, and by the sending of believers to one another. In it, we are tested: did we follow what Allah commanded and abstain from what He forbade? If that is the case, we take our grades and graduate to a place that is more elevated and better, and its duration is more lasting; and what is with Allah is better and more lasting.
