Nebuchadnezzar said: "This is indeed the vision I saw. What is its interpretation?"
Daniel replied: "You are that tree. The birds you saw at its peak are your children and your household..."
"As for the beasts and predators you saw in its shade, they are your attendants and your subjects. You had angered Allah by following your people in the worship of idols."
Nebuchadnezzar asked: "What will your Lord do to me?" Daniel (Exalted is His Might) replied: "He will afflict your body and transform you (Maskh) for seven years. When they have passed, you shall return to being a human as you were the first time."
Nebuchadnezzar sat weeping for seven days. When he finished, he appeared atop his house, and Allah transformed him as a punishment, and he flew away. Daniel commanded the king's children and the people of his kingdom not to change anything of his affairs until he returned to them. Then, toward the end of his life, Allah transformed him into a mosquito; he flew until he entered his house, where Allah changed him back into a human. He washed with water, wore coarse garments (musuh), and ordered the people to gather.
