Where, then, should the soul remain throughout this long period? How can a soul that departed its body thousands of years ago be equal in justice to a soul that departed its body only one day before the Day of Resurrection? On whose account is the long suffering of waiting credited to the former?

The Creator has informed us, through His books and His prophets, that His justice is inseparable from His wisdom. Therefore, questions have arisen regarding the wisdom behind the calamities and misfortunes that befall individuals known for nothing but integrity and faith. Conversely, what is the wisdom behind the abundance of blessings flowing toward those known only as enemies of God and humanity?

What is the wisdom regarding those born with physical deformities or those lacking mental capacity—or losing it entirely—when they have not yet lived long enough to do evil and be punished? What is the wisdom in the divergence of talents among people, even between twins who shared the same nourishment from the same blood and womb, and who witnessed this existence together at the same moment? Why do they differ so fundamentally? One may be enslaved by his desires, seeing neither good nor evil except through them, while the other is elevated by his perceptions, becoming a leader in religion or worldly affairs, finding happiness in pursuing the paths of goodness and virtue.
