THE THIRTEENTH CHAPTER
"REINCARNATION IN ISLAM (2)"
The Almighty said:
{How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you back to life, and then to Him you will be returned.} 1
And the Almighty said:
{And He is the one who gave you life; then He causes you to die and then will give you life. Indeed, mankind is ungrateful.} 2
Death is the dismantling of the structure of life from top to bottom, while life is the building from bottom to top. It is impossible to speak of "death" if life does not exist, for then death would have no function and its existence would be futile. Therefore, how many lives and how many deaths are in this verse?
His saying {when you were lifeless (dead)} refers to the first life and death. His saying {He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die} refers to the second life and death.
