He stated that for more than a century, millions of Brazilians have accepted the subject of the return of life through embodiment as one of the established truths.

Dr. Ian Stevenson provided us with investigative research including more than eighty cases, most of which involve children between the ages of 4 and 5 who began to speak spontaneously in foreign languages that were not the languages of their parents. Furthermore, in other cases, there are children born with birthmarks indicating serious wounds that occurred previously during accidents belonging to a past life.

THE NINTH CHAPTER

"REINCARNATION AMONG THE JEWS"

No matter how deeply a researcher searches, they will find no explicit idea in the books of the Torah, nor in Jewish literature as a whole, regarding reward and punishment—Heaven and Hell or the Indian "Karma"—which appear throughout the history of creeds as two primary regulators of human behavior and factors for rejecting injustice and selfishness, encouraging altruism, and fostering a constant aspiration to attain eternal life. Furthermore, the idea of embodiment or a second chance for purification, as known by peoples tens of centuries before the Jews and continuing after them to this day, has no place in Jewish thought except in some ambiguous phrases that hint at reincarnation.
