As for the outer aspect of the Name, which shone from the Light of the Light of the Name: it vanishes, disappears, and passes away, and it does not remain firm as the Ancient Light remains. I do not say that this originated light vanishes, fades, goes away, and is entirely annihilated or lost; rather, it disappears from the eyes of the created beings just as the stars disappear upon the rising of the sun, while they remain in their state and in their place. However, when the sun—whose light surpasses all that is below it—rises upon them the stars, for [the sun] covers them so they are not seen. If that is the case, then the Name becomes as it was at the beginning of its affair before its manifestation in the Temple (Haykal) which it created for itself from the Light of its Light—connected to its beginning, its eternity, and its source, which is the Light of the Essence. Indeed, that Ancient Light never separated at any point in time.

The Ancient Meaning, the High, the Great, willed and intended to show the earthly world that He is manifest in a visible form like the form of His Name; yet in reality, that form which was seen as the form of the Name is the Essence (al-Dhat) which is neither limited nor perceived. Just as He willed to show the human world also that He is a manifest, visible human form, eating, drinking, and encompassed, while He—Exalted and Sublime—is contrary to that.
