He said: "Likewise We caused it to travel to you, and We made you carry it and inspired you; and indeed, neither your house nor your pocket could contain it." She said to Him: "O

my Lord, indeed in my house is a chest; if I trusted it with it [the pebble], it would contain multiples of it." He said: "That is a thought of yours, O Hubaba, and not what you were commanded with or permitted in." Jabir ibn Abd Allah al-Ansari, peace be upon him, said: Then Hubaba returned her hand to her pocket to extract the pebble, and I was seeing the assembly in which we were sitting expanding, and its ceiling rising, and the throne of my Lord rising with the elevation of the ceiling; so once I would look at my Lord and His ascent upon the throne, and once I would look at the ceiling as it rose from the walls, and once I would look at the expansion of the assembly, and once I would look at my companions who were in the presence of my Lord: were they looking at what I was looking at? Hubaba did not extract the pebble from her pocket until I saw the mountains of Amman, the coast of China, and the farthest reaches of lower Suez; and I saw

the ceiling in the pole of the sky where the Pleiades are, and my Lord was upon His throne between that in a circling beam of light, moving faster than the blowing of the wind, once to the right and once to the left; I looked at the sunset and once at its sunrise.
