Then I asked Your father—in my fabrication—and He is the owner of my destruction and my survival, to look at the ring when He stamped this pebble for me; He handed it to me, and it was this very ring, and behold, written upon it was: 'Allah is the Protector of the righteous,' al-Husayn ibn Ali. And I have asked You now to look at it when You stamped this pebble for me with it, and behold, it is the very same ring, and upon it now is
written: 'Allah is the Lord of the successful,' Ali ibn al-Husayn. In all of that, I find that the ring has not shifted from its essence, nor has it changed in its appearance; and the [desire for] asking You for its clarification has occurred to me."
So He said to me: "O Hubaba, does the state of that which We carry and enable seem great to you, yet what We have made you carry and whose burden We lightened for you does not seem great to you? So contemplate your pebble and take from it the lesson regarding your question." Jabir ibn Abd Allah al-Ansari, peace be upon him, said: Hubaba had extracted the pebble from her pocket when she handed it to my Lord, and behold, it was wrapped in a piece of yellow silk, being the size of a forearm; so when He stamped it, she returned it to herself and put it back into her pocket, and she said to Him: "By Allah, O my Lord, indeed I am fearful for it from a hand that might precede me to it, and that it shall not part from my pocket."
