He said to her: "Raise your head, O Hubaba, and ask about whatever you wish and that for which you came; and bring your pebble which is with you so that I may stamp it for you with this ring of Mine, just as My grandfather, the Commander of the Faithful, My uncle al-Hasan, and My father al-Husayn stamped it."

So she sat up straight and then said: "And from You is the glad tidings, O our Lord; here is the pebble." She extracted a pebble like a white pearl; it shone for us until its light overwhelmed our sight, and behold, it was octagonal of sides, having twelve faces and twelve sides. He took it from her hand and said to her: "O Hubaba, they gathered unto you and adjured you to deliver them from this perplexity of theirs; for it is not the first perplexity nor the last intoxication. How many times they wandered in the past ages, and in how many intoxications are they in permanent times."

Then He extracted His ring from His finger and directed it toward one of the faces of the pebble and stamped it; and we saw the ring sink into it as it sinks into wax. When He raised His ring from the pebble, she said to Him: "O my Lord, I ask You by Your right which You have made obligatory upon Your servants, that You hand over Your ring to me so that I may look at it." He said to her: "O Hubaba, I know what is in your soul regarding your looking at the ring, and likewise you asked al-Hasan and al-Husayn about it just as you asked Me, and they said to you: 'You are among those who shall meet him after me.'
