So He took my hand to a house within a house to look at something in it; then He kicked the house with His foot, and it split open to reveal a surging sea and a light from which the lands shone, and a moored vessel of red ruby. He took my hand, then seated me in the vessel and gestured with His hand, and the vessel traveled in the knowledge of the Lord of the worlds until we overlooked a city whose palaces were of red gold, having ten thousand gates; from every gate come forth creatures whose number none knows but Allah the Exalted, and horses, men, and weaponry.

When they looked at our Lord al-Sadiq, may His glory be magnified, they fell prostrate, submitting to Him in obedience, acknowledging Him in servitude. I said: "O my Lord, what is this city?" He said: "It is Jabulsa; it answered the call of the family of Muhammad; they do not know that Allah created Adam and his progeny." Then He gestured with His hand, and the vessel traveled in the knowledge of the Lord of the worlds until we overlooked a city whose palaces were of white silver, containing creatures more than what I had seen.

When they looked at my Lord al-Sadiq, may His glory be magnified, they fell to Him prostrate, submitting to Him in obedience, acknowledging Him in gnosis [Ma'rifah]. I said: "O my Lord, what is this city?" He said: "This is Jabulqa." Then He said to me: "O Dawud, do you see this great sea?" I said: "Yes, o my Lord."
