(Al-Baqir and Al-Sadiq Declare Their Essential Meaning)

[25] And by the authentic chain of narration, traced back to our Lord Ja'far al-Sadiq, may His glory be magnified, the High, the Most Elevated, that He said: "Whoever claims that he has a Lord Who is not seen, then he has no Lord; and whoever claims that he has a God Who is not known, then he is from the party of Iblis, the [father of] devils." Then He said: "Whoever seeks Allah, the Present in His creation, Who has no opposite and no peer, then I am He."

[26] And on the authority of Salih ibn 'Uqbah, he said: Abu Ja'far, may His glory be magnified, said: "Indeed, Allah is Manifest but not seen, Near but not sensed." He [Salih] said: I said: "Praise be to Allah Who has not been absent from us." So He said to me: "And have you known that He was not absent from you?" I said: "Yes, o my Lord." He said: "Then who is He?" I said: "You." He said: "Mercy be upon you."

(Imam Ja'far, may His glory be magnified, shows Dawud al-Raqqi the city of Jabulqa)

[27] And it was narrated by Abu Muhammad al-Sufuni with his chain of narration from Dawud ibn Kathir al-Raqqi, who said: I entered the presence of our Lord al-Sadiq, may His glory be magnified, and with Him was a group of the believers. I said: "O my Lord, for every Imam there is a miracle and a sign by which the proof is established, and I need to increase in insight in my religion."
