Ali declares His Essential Meaning

The Nun of Grandeur¹ is not proclaimed except by the Eternal, High God, Who does not cease nor change; and the Nun of Grandeur was not proclaimed except by our Lord, the Commander of the Bees, may His glory be magnified, in speech, clarification, revelation, and explicitness. Among that:

[24] What He mentioned in the sermon known as "al-Kashifah" (The Revealer) – and it is said "al-Tatanjiyyah" – upon His return to Kufa after finishing the battle against the Kharijites: "I am the Creator of the constitution [of beings], and the Appointer of the crescents; I am the Everlasting Who does not perish, the stern Leader, the Anza'² the Great Chief; the Beginner, the Restorer, the Doer of what I intend; the Mobilizer of armies, the Owner of the watering places, the Ascender of ascents, the Near yet Far, the Goal without limitation, the Manifest Present and the Inward without obscurity," up to His saying, may His glory be magnified: "I am the Originator of those in the graves, and the Gatherer of what is in the chests; the Owner of the Psalms, and the Owner of the Mount, the Light, and a Book inscribed on vellum unrolled; I am the Spring of Life, the source of prayer, the permissible destination of Zakat, and the Punisher of tyrants; no knowledge surpasses Me, no judgment escapes Me, no doubt disturbs Me, and no adversary argues with Me; the humans among the first and the last have borne witness to Me."
