I had no doubt that this was due to a secret within himself that he wished to be alone with. While I was in that state, my thoughts urging me to draw near to him while I restrained myself so as not to distract him from his inner contemplation, I stretched my gaze and suddenly I saw a constellation of knights beneath whom were gray mares, all of them female. They wore white garments and red turbans, and the constellation numbered approximately three hundred knights. I said: 'Who are these people whom I do not recognize and have never seen before this moment? I say: just now my Master was alone, so from where did these people arrive?' My amazement at this grew long.

Then he called out to me: 'O Ammar!' I replied: 'At your service, O my Master.' He said: 'Draw near to me.' So I drew near to him. He said: 'What are you saying to yourself regarding Ali bin Abi Talib?' I said: 'O my Master, I said nothing but good.' He said: 'At this moment you are marvelling at Ali and his solitude, and you are urging yourself to approach me until you stretched your gaze and saw me in this constellation; thus your wonder grew long and you said: "These are people I do not recognize, nor have I seen them before this hour, and I know not from where they came."' I said: 'O my Master, You know what is in my soul and I know not what is in Yours; indeed, You are the Knower of the Unseen.'
